Thank you Ann Smrekar, for submitting this You Tube tutorial on how to graft kitchener stitch when you're joining both knit and purl stitches as with a cable……….
Want to knit socks but confused by all the various ways? Toe up? Top down? Magic Loop? Two at a time?
Here's some great tips from guild member, Debbie Hajzak:
"You might want to find some patterns for baby or toddler sized socks. They are quicker to finish and you can try out the different techniques without getting stuck with any one thing for too long. The baby socks can be used for gifts or given to charity. Ravelry has plenty of free patterns that are suitable and the comments can usually warn you off of badly written or otherwise unsuitable ones.
My favorite quick overview of the different ways to knit socks is in chapter 1 of Cat Bordhi’s New Pathways for Sock Knitters. Simple, clear illustrations show a sock knit on double points, two circs or one long circ using Magic Loop. (See pages 7 and 8.) Then, hit YouTube or Google for tutorial videos. You’ll be zipping along with socks in no time!" :) thank you Debbie!
